2026 Brazil Trailer Market Sees Overall Downturn, Light-Duty Segment Grows

Date:Jun 15, 2026   Edit:Admin    Views:118

São Paulo, Brazil – Latest statistics from the National Association of Road Equipment Manufacturers (ANFIR) show that Brazil’s road transport equipment market recorded a year-on-year sales decline of 10.04% in the first five months of 2026. Total sales volume stood at 54,418 units, down from 60,492 units in the same period of 2025. Despite the overall market slump, the light-duty vehicle segment maintained steady growth, bringing new development opportunities for global transport equipment suppliers including Zonxin.

As a professional manufacturer and supplier of trailer axles, suspension systems, wheel hubs and core trailer components, Zonxin has long focused on the South American market and tailored high-quality, cost-effective products to meet the local operating conditions. In the current Brazilian market, traditional heavy-duty trailers and semi-trailers face obvious downward pressure: their January-May sales fell 12.82% year-on-year to 26,415 units, while conventional body-on-chassis products dropped 7.25% to 28,003 units.

May’s market performance further reflects the divergent trends across segments. The light-duty body-on-chassis market achieved robust growth, with sales hitting 6,662 units, rising both month-on-month and year-on-year. Driven by booming urban logistics, demand for light transport vehicles keeps climbing. This trend perfectly matches Zonxin’s product layout — our lightweight, high-load and durable trailer spare parts are widely applicable to light-duty logistics vehicles, fully adapting to the high-frequency and diversified operation scenarios of urban distribution in Brazil.

On the contrary, heavy-duty trailer registrations slipped to 5,148 units in May, affected by financing policies and seasonal factors, showing a weak market sentiment. To revitalize the industry, the Brazilian government launched the Move Brasil program with a total fund of R$21.2 billion, offering favorable low-interest loans for transport equipment procurement. Corporate buyers enjoy a maximum repayment term of 60 months, and individual operators can extend it to 120 months.

The supportive financing policies will effectively activate market purchasing power. Leveraging this favorable environment, Zonxin will further deepen its cooperation with local Brazilian dealers and vehicle manufacturers. We continue to deliver reliable axles, air suspension assemblies, aluminum alloy wheel hubs and other core components, adhering to strict production standards and customized service solutions.

Industry insiders predict that the prosperity of urban logistics plus government policy incentives will gradually drive a market recovery. Zonxin will keep tracking local market changes, optimize product lines in response to segment demands, and provide superior products and one-stop supporting solutions for Brazilian transport equipment enterprises, jointly promoting the sound development of the local trailer industry.
