In the current booming logistics and transportation industry, semi-trailers, as the main force in highway freight transportation, have received much attention for their performance improvement. Hot-formed steel, an advanced material with high strength and lightweight characteristics, is gradually becoming a new favorite in the semi-trailer manufacturing field. In order to deeply explore the application technology of hot-formed steel in the commercial vehicle field, a technical seminar focusing on the application of hot-formed steel in the commercial vehicle field was successfully held at Shandong Zonxin Auto Parts Co., Ltd. on May 10, 2025. 

 At this conference, Yuan Tangmei, Secretary General of the National Hot Forming Industry Alliance, and alliance experts were specially invited to discuss the hot-formed steel technology and its application in the semi-trailer industry.  Hot-formed steel can improve the strength of steel plates through its unique process. It has great potential in commercial vehicle manufacturing. It can achieve the lightweight of the vehicle body while ensuring structural strength and safety, reducing energy consumption and improving the driving range. At the seminar on the application technology of hot-formed steel in commercial vehicles, industry experts, scholars and enterprise representatives had in-depth exchanges on key technical issues such as the material characteristics, process optimization and application difficulties of hot-formed steel. They also discussed the application innovation of hot-formed steel on various components of commercial vehicles, fully demonstrating the transformation brought by hot-formed steel to the semi-trailer industry.
